Debt Hypercube (2015)

Debt Hypercube aims to short-circuit the shared cultural values that enable near-universal acceptance that we must repay our debts.

The Debt Hypercubes are dice inscribed with machine mistranslations of common sayings about debt.

“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” becomes:

are you looking for a dentist?
compare the prices of spare parts
demand fangs
beautiful black eyes, lips, ears, hair, teeth
your eyes will be purely to kill
you should know the dog is older

These objects were distributed for free* during the 2015 Parking Lot Art Fair, SF.

*Debtors were asked to sign a contract binding them to debt with predatory exponential interest. See video for details.
